ESOCS Devotional 1 May 2025 – The Partnership That Works
MEMORY VERSE: “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.”
2 Corinthians 13:14
TEXT: 2 CORINTHIANS 13:1-14
This will be the third time I am coming to you. “By the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established.” 2 I have told you before, and foretell as if I were present the second time, and now being absent I write to those who have sinned before, and to all the rest, that if I come again I will not spare— 3 since you seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, who is not weak toward you, but mighty in you. 4 For though He was crucified in weakness, yet He lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you.
5 Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified. 6 But I trust that you will know that we are not disqualified.
7 Now I pray to God that you do no evil, not that we should appear approved, but that you should do what is honorable, though we may seem disqualified. 8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth. 9 For we are glad when we are weak and you are strong. And this also we pray, that you may be made complete. 10 Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the authority which the Lord has given me for edification and not for destruction.
11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
12 Greet one another with a holy kiss.

Partnership is a joint participation to get something done successfully. There are all kinds of partnerships that life offers. Some are effective and productive, while some end up in disaster and disappointment. Anyone in a partnership in a particular venture is not alone in that venture. Therefore, cannot bear the burden in that venture alone.
As a believer in Christ Jesus, the life you live on earth and the service that you render to God combined is a venture. These present serious responsibility for you to shoulder. To the extent you succeed or fail is determined largely by the partnership you made along your eternal journey. Today, you are being introduced to a partnership that works. With that partnership, you can never fail in life and your service to God. This partnership encompasses all walks of life – spiritual, academics, career, relationship/marriage, child raising, etc. It is partnership with the Holy Spirit.
In our memory verse, three things were listed which are: (1) The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ (2) The love of God (3). The communion of the Holy Spirit; and these three are meant to be with us. Any believer these three things are in full manifestation in his life will always be victorious. The word translated as communion is a Greek word koinōnia, which also means partnership. Beloved, with the partnership of the Holy Spirit in your life the grace and love of God will be in full manifestation and you will always produce the evidence of a good child of God. Your lifestyle will be distinct from the worldly ones because you will be led, helped, instructed by the Spirit and you will bear the fruits of the Spirit. No wonder why Lord Jesus told the disciples in Luke 24:49 and Acts 1:8 to wait and be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Beloved, consciously desire and yield to partnership with the Holy Spirit. Consciously make Him your Senior Partner, you will never regret your journey and experience with Him.
CHALLENGES
- Tell the Holy Spirit you want a partnership with Him for your journey on earth.
PRAYER POINT
- Dear Father LORD, thank you for this new month and your word today. Father forgive me for neglecting the great partner you gave me through Jesus Christ for my victory in life. Now dear Father, I asked for a strong partnership with the Holy Spirit, in Jesus Name Amen.
