Head of Corporate Communication, of the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution, PHED, John Anonyai has reacted to the protest by some electricity consumers in Port Harcourt, Today.

John, in a chat with journalists shortly after the protest, said those affected owe the commission.

Some electricity consumers from Tombia Extension, Rumuola and Orazi took to major roads in Port Harcourt with placards to protest what they termed ‘epileptic power supply.’

Inscriptions like ‘PHED pls help’, Tenants done leave rent run, we need lights’, were written on their placards.

Some of the protesters in a chat with our correspondent, said despite lack of steady power supply, they pay exorbitant bills.

Recall, that there was total blackout in some parts of the state recently. But, the commission apologised and said it was due to loss of supply from the National Grid.
