The Rivers State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, has directed youth leaders in the state to be at alert; monitor all movements and ensure compliance to the curfew order imposed by the state government.
Chairman of NYCN, in Rivers State, Amb. Chijioke Ihunwo disclosed this in a statement, through his media aide, Amadi Eze on Tuesday.
He said the curfew is geared towards forestalling the heinous attacks, perpetrated by those who do not mean well for Rivers State.
Ihunwo, advised youths in the state and the country at large to shun every act of violence, as killing of Security Operatives will not solve the problems bedeviling the nation.
“In view of the declaration by the Governor, Amb. Chijioke Ihunwo, has directed all Youth Leaders in the State, to be at alert, monitor their local government areas, ensure compliance to the letter and report any strange gathering or movement to the security agencies for further action to be taking,” he said.
Governor, Nyesom Wike had yesterday, announced that the curfew earlier imposed on the state, will now begin from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm, on Tuesday, May 11, 2021.
