The Vice Chairman of Emohua Local Government Council, Hon. Mrs. Vivian Amadi, on Friday flagged off the distribution of free educational materials to basic schools across the local government area on behalf of the Council Chairman, Sir Chidi Lloyd.
The initiative, which includes the distribution of books, school bags and sandals, is part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at strengthening basic education nationwide through the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).
Speaking at the council headquarters in Emohua during a meeting with heads and representatives of basic schools, Amadi directed teachers to ensure that the materials are distributed equitably among pupils in their respective schools.
She cautioned against any form of favoritism in the process, stressing that the items are strictly for students and not for sale.
The distribution exercise forms part of ongoing efforts by the Emohua Local Government Council to support educational development and improve access to learning materials at the grassroots.
