The Emohua ICT hub is set for an upgrade from its current 350-capacity to a 500-capacity facility to accommodate two Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination centres.
Media aide to the Chairman, Bright Jossy said it follows an inspection visit on Wednesday by the Rivers State JAMB Coordinator, Adaji Amina Olije, who was at the Emohua Local Government Council headquarters for an on-the-spot assessment as part of the accreditation process.
Olije, who was conducted around the facility by the council chairman, Sir Chidi Lloyd, commended the quality of the project and recommended an expansion to host more candidates. She noted that the ICT hub, once operational, would ease the pressure on existing JAMB centres across Rivers State.
Responding to the recommendation, Lloyd immediately announced plans to upgrade the facility named after Chief Emeka Woke from a 350-capacity hub to a 500-capacity one, in line with JAMB requirements.
The Emohua ICT hub is one of the signature projects executed by Lloyd during his first term in office.
