The Emohua Local Government Area (LGA) has released a timetable for ward-to-ward mobilization in support of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The sensitization and mobilization committee announced that the initiative, backed by the council chairman, Sir Chidi Lloyd, is aimed at ensuring residents of the 14 political wards in the area fully participate in the registration exercise.
As part of the arrangement, the council will provide transportation and logistics to convey eligible participants from their communities to the INEC office at the council headquarters in Emohua, and back after completing their registration.
The exercise targets residents who are of voting age but without voter cards, those whose Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) are misplaced or defaced, as well as individuals seeking transfers of polling units or corrections to their voter information.
Residents have also been encouraged to visit the INEC office at the council headquarters between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, for registration and updates.
Secretary of the sensitization and mobilization committee, Bright Jossy-Elendu, urged all eligible residents to seize the opportunity, stressing that “your vote is your right; don’t leave it for anyone else.”
