The Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Sir Chidi Lloyd, has announced plans to introduce shuttle buses and construct new hostels to enhance learning conditions at the Rivers State University (RSU) Emohua Campus.
Speaking during an interactive session with students and staff on Monday, Lloyd said the campus shuttle service would be launched in the next academic year, with a motor park and shopping centre also set for development opposite the campus.
He further disclosed that the council will partner with the university to renovate abandoned structures and develop new hostel blocks to provide safe and affordable accommodation for students.
“These hostels will not only make life easier for students but will also generate revenue for both the council and the university,” he said.
Lloyd assured the university community that his administration is committed to supporting the growth of the campus and improving its contribution to the area’s socioeconomic development.
The Head of Emohua Campus, Prof. Hamilton Donald, commended the chairman’s leadership and pledged RSU’s full cooperation in the proposed accommodation projects
