The Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Sir Chidi Lloyd has announced a restriction on the activities of scavengers and cart pushers within the local government area between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. daily.
Chief Press Secretary of the council, Bright Jossy says the directive follows credible intelligence reports linking some scavengers and cart pushers to the vandalization of electrical installations and other criminal activities carried out at night across parts of Emohua.
Under the new order, scavengers and cart pushers are permitted to operate only between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. each day. Security agencies have been directed to strictly enforce the restriction, with instructions to arrest and prosecute anyone found violating the order.
Sir Lloyd also called on traditional rulers, Community Development Committees (CDCs), and youth leaders to strengthen local intelligence gathering and report any suspicious movement or activities around public and private infrastructure to security authorities.
He further encouraged residents to support the fight against vandalism, promising a handsome reward for anyone who provides credible information leading to the arrest of vandals or other criminal elements sabotaging government efforts in the area.
