Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, David Omereji, has urged residents of Obelle community to return home following a deadly cult clash that left about 19 people dead.
In a statement issued over the weekend, Omereji described the incident as tragic and assured residents of enhanced security measures to safeguard lives and property. He also vowed that all those linked to the violence, either directly or indirectly, would face justice.
The Chairman warned individuals involved in criminal activities to cease their actions or risk severe legal consequences.
The call for residents’ return comes after many fled the community due to a violent supremacy battle between rival cult groups.
