The Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Sir Chidi Lloyd, has dismissed claims that he imposed a new leadership on the Rumuji Youth Association, describing such reports as false and misleading.
According to a statement from the council, the selection of the new youth executives followed due process in line with the customs of the community. The Paramount Ruler of Rumuji, after due consultation with other community organs, forwarded the community’s nominations to the local government council for approval. The council chairman subsequently gave his consent, marking the end of the tenure of the former youth leadership.
The council emphasized that the process was transparent and community-driven, adding that Sir Chidi Lloyd remains a firm and principled leader who cannot be swayed by propaganda or blackmail sponsored by detractors.
The clarification comes amid tension in the community following the leadership transition within the youth association.
