Rivers state government has been urged not to convert the newly commissioned Dr Peter Odili Cancer and Cardio Vascular centre to a money making venture and revenue generation centre.
Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero said this during the Commission of the hospital today.
He said the hospital should be used for charity instead so as to meet the health challenges of the people.
He also called on the Federal govt to establish cancer centres in each of the geopolitical zones so as to provide critical healthcare for the less privileged.
Speaking, governor Wike said his administration will never abandon any project it has stated. He said he has no apologies naming the hospital after Dr Peter Odili.
He also advised those in position of authority to ensure they attract project back home before they leave office.
