The Vice Chairman of Eleme Local Government Area, Hon. TrustGod Appolos Orr-egirinwa, has issued a stern warning to parents in the area to be vigilant and protect their children, particularly the girl child.
The warning comes after a disturbing incident on Wednesday morning, where the suspect , a 36-year-old man, Elijah Nathan, an indigene of Gokana Local Government Area, allegedly lured and raped a 6-year-old minor in Egbalor community, Ebubu.
Although the suspect has been apprehended by the Police ,the Vice Chairman, who also oversees health matters in the council, has taken steps to ensure the victim receives proper medical attention.
Speaking after she visited the victim at the Eleme Police Station, , Hon. Orr-egirinwa warned that any individual who intends to sexually abuse a minor will face the full weight of the law, emphasizing that Eleme Local Government Area will not be a safe haven for child abuse and other heinous crimes.
