Executive Chairman of Eleme Local Government Area, Phillip Okparaji has commended Gov. Wike for proactive steps taken to curb the spread of the COVID-19 in the LGA and the state at large.
The chairman made this known in a chat with journalists yesterday at the Councils headquarters.
Okparaji commended the governor for demolishing the hotel in the area as he stated that the hotel management violated the executive order of the state government. The governor’s demolition of the hotels is in accordance with the laws, he noted. He called on the people to obey the directives of the state government while assuring Gov. Wike of the total support of the people of the LGA.
Meanwhile, some stakeholders have continued to condemn the actions of the governor over the demolition of the hotels. Recently a pro-Ogoni group condemned the act, as they called on the state governor to compensate the owners of the hotels and apologise to the Ogoni people.
