The assistant pastor of the church which owns a billboard linked to the electrocution of nine persons at Obiri-Ikwerre in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers state has been arrested by the Police.
Spokesperson of the command, Grace Koko disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
According to her, the pastor is in the custody of the Choba Police Division as an investigation is ongoing
“Yes, I can confirm that the assistant pastor of the Church has been arrested. He is in the custody of the Choba Police Division as we speak. An investigation is still ongoing,” he said.
The nine men said to be private businessmen were lectrocuted on Monday when a metal billboard they were installing for the church touched a high-tension cable.
Five of them died on the spot while the other four were hospitalized.
