The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has announced a scheduled 25-day power outage in parts of Lagos State to facilitate maintenance work by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).
In a notice issued on Friday via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, EKEDC stated that the blackout will begin on Monday, July 28, and continue until Thursday, August 21, 2025. The daily outage will last from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
According to the distribution company, the disruption is necessary to allow TCN to carry out critical maintenance on the Omotosho-Ikeja West 330 kV transmission line.
“During this period, residents should expect intermittent electricity supply and load shedding across the Eko Disco network,” the statement read.
The affected areas were not immediately disclosed, but EKEDC urged customers to make alternative power arrangements and assured them of efforts to restore stable supply after the maintenance is completed.
