The Port Harcourt Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, held a valedictory ceremony in honour of Assistant Commander of the EFCC (ACE II), Ifehinwa Ephraim Ajaja, who retired after decades of service.
Ajaja, widely regarded as the longest-serving staff of the Directorate and pioneer Head of its Medical Unit, was celebrated for his professionalism, discipline, and compassion. Officers and staff described him as a mentor, father figure, and tutor whose leadership placed high priority on the health and safety of both personnel and suspects.
Acting Zonal Director, ACE I Hassan Saidu, praised Ajaja’s reliability and selflessness, noting that his retirement leaves a void in the Directorate. “Within the short period I worked with him, he proved dependable and professional. His good deeds will always be rewarded,” Saidu said.
In his remarks, Ajaja expressed gratitude to his colleagues for their support, stressing that his greatest achievement was ensuring that no suspect died in custody during his tenure. He urged staff to remain committed to excellence and uphold the Commission’s values.
