Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested three suspected vote buyers in different parts of Anambra State during the governorship election held on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
The suspects include Emeka Ilokasia, apprehended at Ward 2, Njikoka Local Government Area; Nwachukwu Loretta, arrested at Ward 2 (008), Awkuzu in Oyi Local Government Area; and Emuka Chuwudi, arrested at Umunachi Village in Dunukofia Local Government Area.
According to the EFCC, the arrests were part of the Commission’s efforts to curb electoral malpractice and ensure credible elections in the state.
The anti-graft agency further disclosed that the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
