A former Governor of Anambra State and immediate past Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, has been arrested in Abuja and is currently in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The development was confirmed in a statement released Wednesday night by Ngige’s former media aide, Fred Chukwulobe, who dismissed online reports suggesting the former minister had been kidnapped.
“Former Governor of Anambra State and immediate past Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, is with the EFCC. More details later,” Chukwulobe said.
Ngige has been in the news recently after armed men attacked his convoy in Anambra State. He was not in the vehicle during the incident.
