The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, arraigned Jude Chigozie Okoye, former manager and older brother of music duo Peter and Paul Okoye, before Justice Rahman Oshodi of a Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos.
Okoye, alongside his company, Northside Music Ltd, faces four fresh counts of stealing over $1 million and £34,537.59 in music royalties. The alleged offences, committed between 2016 and 2023, violate Sections 278 and 285 of the Lagos State Criminal Law.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges. The prosecution requested his remand in a correctional facility, while the defense sought EFCC custody pending a bail hearing. Justice Oshodi ordered his remand at Ikoyi Correctional Centre and adjourned the bail hearing to March 6, with trial dates set for May 16 and 23, 2025.
