The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retired), has reaffirmed that educational development will remain a central focus of his administration.
Speaking through the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Worika, at the 43rd Convocation Ceremony of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE), Rumuolumeni, on Saturday, Ibas emphasized the importance of strengthening higher education institutions.
He noted that the convocation’s theme, “The University Culture in Practice: The IAUE Experience,” was timely, stressing the need for universities to rise above mediocrity and uphold academic excellence.
“It is heartening to see IAUE demonstrate its commitment to academic distinction, institutional maturity, and responsible governance,” Ibas said. “A thriving university culture is one that not only teaches but transforms.”
