Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie, Former Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara has dismissed as false and misleading a viral poster linking him to a purported 2027 political arrangement under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State.
In a statement, Ehie described the claim—which suggests he would run as deputy governor alongside Dr. Dakuku Peterside—as “mischievous and desperate,” insisting that it is a calculated attempt to misinform the public and create political tension in the state.
He categorically denied any involvement in such a plan, stating that he neither endorsed nor consented to the use of his name in the said poster. According to him, the development amounts to political propaganda aimed at undermining the unity and stability being fostered under the leadership of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Ehie reaffirmed his commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and pledged unwavering support for Governor Fubara, noting that he remains loyal to the administration’s vision for peace and development in Rivers State.
“The peace of Rivers State is paramount, and I am ready to make every necessary sacrifice in support of the Governor’s decisions,” he said, adding that any portrayal of him to the contrary is a distortion of facts driven by individuals seeking relevance.
He urged the public to disregard the poster, describing it as unauthorized and misleading, while stressing that Rivers State is not in need of rescue from “imaginary enemies” but rather continued unity and purposeful leadership.
Ehie further warned that attempts to manipulate public opinion through false narratives would not succeed, emphasizing that residents of the state are politically aware and discerning.
He concluded by reiterating his alignment with Governor Fubara, the APC, and the people of Rivers State, insisting that any suggestion otherwise “is dead on arrival.”
