A suit filed by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, in the 2019 Ebonyi governorship election, Sen. Sonni Ogbuoji which prayed the court to declare the seats of Governor, Dave Umahi and his deputy vacant has been dismissed by the Appeal Court sitting in Enugu.
Sen. Sonni approached the court to declare Umahi’s seat vacant over his defection from the People’s Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.
The Ebonyi state High Court had struck out the matter and awarded the sum of five hundered thousand naira as damage against Sen, Sonni.
Recall that a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja had sacked Governor, Dave Umahi and his deputy over their defection from the PDP to the APC.
