Protest over the bad section of the Eleme axis of the East-West Road in Rivers State has been suspended after seven days.
Obarilomate Ollor, Executive Chairman of Eleme Local Government Area, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.
He said all groups have agreed that the protest be suspended, since contractor has been mobilized to site.
The contractor, in a statement said the road will be completed in 24months, with the Onne up to Eleme Junction, having five bridges.
Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio had announced a release of N2.5billion for compensation to property owners.
