Nigerians plying the East-West Road have raised concerns over the deplorable state of the Kaiama-Ahoada section of the East-West Road, which was destroyed by the 2022 floods and yet to be repaired after contractors dug out asphalt, leaving the road in a dismal state.
Our reporter who used the road on Sunday morning, decried the level of frustration, delay and even imminent danger motorists had to face while traveling through the section of the road.
We also received reports of travelers who slept overnight as heavy-duty trucks struggling to pass through the road resulted to a huge lockdown.
Although The NDDC had promised to rehabilitate the failed sections of the East West Road between Ahoada and Ula-Okobo town in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State, there’s no active effort on sight that suggests any intervention.
