DSTV on Friday, led police officers and officials of the Department of State Security, DSS, to arrset some persons over alleged illegal transmission of its signals.
The team arrested over 10 persons suspected to be transmitting its signals to individuals who pay a monthly fee, in Akokwa, Egede and other streets in Diobu, Port Harcourt.
According to eyewitnesses, the security operatives stormed the homes and offices of the suspects in commando style.
One of the suspects who managed to escape, in a chat with our correspondent said, they seized about 5 of his decoders, televisions and two of his phones.
He stated that some of his customers with him when the officials stormed his office were arrested and taken to an unknown destination
He explained that their whereabout is still unknown as no one has contacted them on their behalf. “Since yesterday, their phones have been switched off,” he said.
