The Department of State Services has arrested a suspect, Udeme Sunday Stephen, in connection with the alleged attack on the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and several leaders of the African Democratic Congress in Benin City, Edo State.
According to Channels Television, the arrest followed an extensive investigation by the secret police.
The National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Yunusa Tanko, said the incident happened shortly after the group returned from the ADC secretariat, where they officially received the 2023 Labour Party governorship candidate in Edo State, Olumide Akpata, into the party.
