A Non Governmental Organization, Rainbow Watch and Development Centre on Thursday, August 24, 2023 organized an awareness campaign to sensitize teenagers on drug abuse.
The teenagers were drawn from selected communities in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The group in a statement said the campaign was aimed at educating target teenagers on the dangers of drug abuse and tobacco smoking.
It also said the participants gained immensely as they were educated on the dangers of drug abuse and tobacco smoking which includes addiction, a decline in school performance, a loss of focus on important aspects of life, and major health problems like heart disease and lung cancer, as well as mental health issues.
The group also said it believes that by working together, a healthier society can be achieved while creating opportunities for teenagers to live better lives.
