- Police Arrest One Suspect
The Executive Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Dr. Obinna Anyanwu, DSSRS, has condemned in strong terms the brutal killing of a 13 years old, Miss Peace Chima Alfred, saying those involved in the murder must be arrested and prosecuted.
The remains of the deceased, a native of Amaku-Mba was found buried in a shallow grave in a bush along the Okehi-Amaku Mba federal road in Etche on Tuesday.
The Chairman described the ugly incident as heinous, satanic, and unprovoked, noting that the gruesome murder of the promising, young girl was too cruel in this time and age.
Dr. Anyanwu who commiserated with the parents of the deceased, vowed that all those involved in the gruesome murder must not only be apprehended but be made to face the wrath of the law.
Meanwhile, one suspect has been arrested on Wednesday by officers of the Nigeria Police, Okehi Division in connection with the incident.
The Council Chairman has ordered an intense discreet investigation and manhunt of the remaining suspects.
