Bauchi State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Rifkatu Yakubu, has advised female corps members who have completed their service year to return home to their parents for a reunion rather than heading to their boyfriends’ houses.
Yakubu gave the advice on Thursday during the distribution of National Service certificates to corps members in the state.
She also encouraged the outgoing corps members to take advantage of the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program to become self-reliant.
“Even if you have not learned anything from the SAED program, it is not too late. Instead of going home to sit idle, find something to do to assist your parents. Use your last allowance wisely and start learning a trade,” she advised.
Yakubu further warned them against engaging in fraudulent activities, kidnapping, or ritual killings in a bid to make quick money, emphasizing that such actions could lead to dire consequences.
