Senior Pastor of Salvation Ministries, David Ibiyeomie, has issued a stern warning to bloggers and social media users, threatening legal action against anyone who reports on him or his ministry.
Speaking during a recent church sermon, Pastor Ibiyeomie cautioned bloggers to refrain from publishing content related to him or his church, claiming he does not need the publicity. “Don’t carry news about me or my church. If not, I’ll arrest and lock you up,” he said.
The pastor also dismissed the notion of turning the other cheek, stating instead that he would retaliate if provoked. “I don’t believe in ‘slap me, I turn the other cheek’; I’ll fight you. My gospel is, before you slap me, I slap you,” he declared.
His comments have sparked reactions online, particularly among Nigerians on social media, who view the remarks as a threat to press freedom and public discourse.
