A dramatic rescue unfolded off the Forcados offshore area of Delta State, where a man survived several hours adrift in the ocean after his speedboat capsized.
Recounting the incident, CaptElvis Anigboro described the rescue as a miracle saying: “To the Glory of God rescue accomplished. Imagine being lost and adrift in the middle of the ocean. This is what I call divine intervention on the part of this guy. This happened at Forcados Offshore, Delta State. His speedboat capsized at 12:00 hours on that day… so he managed to use his fuel tank for buoyancy while he was left adrift in the ocean, until he was rescued by God’s intervention at 1625Hrs. It can only be God.”
According to details of the incident, the victim’s boat overturned around 12:00 p.m., leaving him stranded in open waters. In a desperate effort to survive, he reportedly clung to the boat’s fuel tank, which helped keep him afloat as he drifted.
After several hours at sea, he was eventually rescued at about 4:25 p.m.
Observers have described the survival and rescue as remarkable, given the circumstances and duration of time spent in the water. Details of the victim’s condition after the rescue were not immediately available.
