The All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, has reacted to claims by Governor, Nyesom Wike that he has discovered a Rivers aircraft secretly abandoned in Germany by the Chibuike Amaechi led administration.
Gov. Wike had in a statement yesterday, claimed to have discovered one of the State owned Legacy 600 aircraft, flown to and abandoned in Germany since 2012 by the Governor Chibuike Amaechi led administration, through intelligence gathering.
The governor, said it was unconscionable for the immediate past administration to have surreptitiously taken a state owned asset to Germany and abandon same there, without any documentation.
According to him, the aircraft had been abandoned for ten years, and that efforts to repair and retrieve it has cost the State government over Three Million Euros.
However, in a swift response, Spokesperson of the Rivers APC, Chris Finebone said it is laughable that Gov. Wike claims ignorance of the aircraft in Germany.
According to him, Wike served in the government as Chief of Staff, and cannot claim to not know of the aircraft.
He urged the governor to stop politicizing every issue, as he has failed Rivers people.
To the APC spokesman I ask this question. Was Wike Chief of Staff in 2012 or Minister. Your response shows a clear case of saying something for the sake of it.
