OGURAMA/BAKANA ELECTRIFICATION
•••Fingers Top Politician From Ogurama
•••Says Council Will Deal Decisively With Vandals, Sponsors
The Executive Chairman of Degema Local Government Area, Hon. Michael John Williams, has expressed shock, sadness and disbelief over the sabotage of the Council’s effort to restore power to Ogurama and Bakana Communities of the LGA.
He noted that the vandalization of the electrical infrastructure by some political jobbers, just to discredit his administration and score cheap political points, was very saddening, unfortunate and unbecoming of party leaders.
The Council Chairman made this known in Bakana, Saturday, when he received intelligence report on the electrification project, where vandals reportedly cut off cables from the newly erected poles.
The Council Chairman expressed shock that a political leader in Ogurama Community, who was desperate for political position, particularly the forthcoming chairmanship election, would condescend so low to sabotage the Council effort to restore power to the Communities.
While calling on those involved in the act to desist, the Council Chairman warned that the Council administration would not hesitate to deal decisively with anyone caught in the heinous crime.
The DELGA Sheriff however, assured that the administration’s efforts to restore power to the Communities was on course, and would be achieved, regardless of the sabotage.
