Chairman of Bile Council of Chiefs, Ben Dokubo has accused the military in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State of conniving with sea pirates to terrorise the community.
Dokubo, who disclosed this in a statement at the weekend accused the military of detaining their passenger boat few days ago.
He said the military personnel are demanding that they handover some officials of the Bile vigilante group before the boat would be released.
He said they were approached by two military gun boats while being escorted by local vigilante personnel on their way to Port Harcourt for fear of being attacked by the pirates.
He further narrated that they had to explain to the military officers that they are chiefs from Bile kingdom, but they ignored them and went after the escort boat.
When they could not catch them, they seized one of their boats and demanded they provide the escort before the boat would be released.
