The Rivers State Police Command, says six persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of a final year student of the Rivers State University, Osundu Chimela.
Spokesperson of the state police command, Nnamdi Omoni disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.
He said the suspects are currently in custody, providing them with useful information.
“At the end of our investigations, we will take it up from there. For now, six persons have been arrested, including the prime suspect who shot the boy,” he said.
“We are saying that a locally-made pistol and some cartridges were found in his pubic region while undressing him before he was taken to the mortuary. The pistol was found in his pubic region in the presence of his brother,” Omoni added.
Meanwhile, mother of the deceased, Josephine Amaechi had denied the report by the Police, stating that her son was never a cultist.
She said the Police will have to explain how the gun got into the pubic region of her son.
