DCLM Daily Manna 2026: DCLM Daily Manna 12 January 2026: Washed By His Blood
Text: Revelation 5:8–10 (KJV)
Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song, saying:
“You are worthy to take the scroll,
And to open its seals;
For You were slain,
And have redeemed us to God by Your blood
Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
10 And have made us kings and priests to our God;
And we shall reign on the earth.”
KEY VERSE: Revelation 5:9 (KJV)
“And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood, out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation.”
On October 25, 2022, The Guardian reported the death of Amou Haji, widely known as “The World’s Dirtiest Man.” He reportedly went more than sixty years without bathing, living as a hermit in an ash-covered shack in Deigah, Iran.
Haji believed that bathing would make him ill. Ironically, shortly after being persuaded to bathe and undergo medical checks, he fell sick and died at the age of ninety-four. His story reminds us that physical cleanliness neither prevents death nor guarantees life—mortality comes to all.
Spiritually speaking, humanity shares something even more sobering with this man. By nature, we are all unclean. Sin stains, defiles, and darkens the soul in ways no soap or water can cleanse.
Moral effort, religious observance, and good intentions are powerless to remove this inward corruption. However, unlike the ineffective physical cleansing attempted on Haji, God has provided a perfect and eternal cleansing for the soul.
This cleansing is found only in the blood of Jesus Christ—the sinless, sacrificial Lamb of God. As revealed in today’s text, Jesus alone is worthy to open the sealed book because He was slain and redeemed humanity by His blood. No man could accomplish this task; only Christ paid the full penalty for sin through His death on the cross at Calvary.
John the Baptist first introduced Jesus as “the Lamb of God.” Unlike the lambs of Old Testament sacrifices—which only provided temporary atonement and required repeated offerings—Jesus is the Lamb sent directly from God.
His sacrifice was once and for all. While the Levitical sacrifices could only cover sin temporarily, the blood of Jesus completely takes away the sins of the whole world. It cleanses the conscience from dead works and restores fellowship with the living God.
Salvation, therefore, is not achieved by human effort or religious merit. Scripture declares, “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.”
The Lamb has already been slain. The sacrifice has been accepted. Redemption has been secured. All that remains is for the sinner to repent, believe, and receive Christ by faith.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
The blood of Jesus, by which we were purchased, purifies and perfects us.
