DCLM Daily Manna 2025: DCLM Daily Manna 2 December 2025: The Perfect Sacrifice of Christ
Text: Hebrews 9:24-28 (KJV)
4 For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; 25 not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another— 26 He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. 27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, 28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
KEY VERSE: Hebrews 9:24
“For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.”
In his book Knowing Christ, Craig Glickman recounts a touching moment during Abraham Lincoln’s funeral procession:
A black woman lifted her young son above the crowd and said, “Take a long look, honey.
He died for you.”
If possible, we too should lift our hearts to behold Calvary—“Take a long look; He died for you.”
Today’s scripture magnifies the perfect and superior sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
While the Old Covenant required priests to repeatedly offer animal sacrifices in an earthly tabernacle that could never completely take away sins, Jesus accomplished what the law could not.
The Limitations of the Old Covenant Sacrifices:
They were offered in an earthly tabernacle.
They were repeated continually.
They could not fully cleanse or perfect the worshipper.
They only foreshadowed the reality to come.
The Perfection of Christ’s Sacrifice:
Christ did not enter an earthly tabernacle but heaven itself.
He offered not the blood of animals, but His own blood.
His sacrifice is once for all, never to be repeated.
His work is complete, final, and eternally effective for redemption and forgiveness.
Christ’s Three Appearances:
He appeared (past) — at His incarnation to put away sin by His sacrifice.
He appears (present) — in heaven as our Intercessor and Advocate.
He shall appear (future) — to bring final salvation to all who eagerly wait for Him.
But those who reject His perfect sacrifice will face judgment after death, for “it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”
Let this truth stir your heart to gratitude, faith, and total surrender.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Don’t hold on to the shadow when the reality has come.
