DCLM Daily Manna 2025: DCLM Daily Manna 15 December 2025: God is Steadfastly Faithful
Text: Psalm 89:1–7 (KJV)
I will sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
2 For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.
3 I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant,
4 Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.
5 And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O Lord: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.
6 For who in the heaven can be compared unto the Lord? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the Lord?
7 God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.
KEY VERSE: Psalm 89:1 (KJV)
“I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.”
God had earlier made a covenant promise to establish the dynasty of David. However, events later unfolded that seemed—by human reasoning—to threaten that promise.
Jerusalem was conquered, Jehoiachin was taken captive to Babylon along with many notable citizens, and Zedekiah, a puppet king under Nebuchadnezzar, was placed on the throne.
This appeared to create an interruption in the Davidic line, raising troubling questions among God’s people.
Psalm 89 begins as a song of praise, celebrating God’s mercies and faithfulness, and rehearsing His glorious promises to David. It later turns into a lament over the nation’s distress.
Yet, the psalmist never suggests that God’s covenant had failed. Instead, the psalm reveals a vital spiritual lesson: no circumstance can annul God’s promises.
This passage teaches us how to present our petitions before God. Even when surrounded by difficulties, we must not allow challenges to overshadow God’s unfailing word.
We should approach Him with gratitude, praise His mercy, exalt His faithfulness, and confidently remind Him of His promises. God has never failed—and He never will.
Whatever you are trusting God for, no matter how long it seems to be taking, hold firmly to faith. God’s promises are not subject to time, seasons, or circumstances. He is never late.
As Scripture assures us, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1). As this year draws to a close, God is still working wonders. Expect your miracle now!
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Absolute confidence in God can never go unrewarded.
