KEY VERSE:“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” – (Hebrews 11:6)
TEXT: Hebrews 11:1-6 (KJV)
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.
3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
Faith at the Dawn of History4 By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.5 By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Our heavenly Father is just, fair and well disposed to those who love Him and do His bidding. A Christian commentator once wrote, “Our God is a vast repertoire of goodness and no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly”.
The benevolence, affection, care and provisions of the Lord are directed primarily to the trusting believer in Christ. “For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly” (Psalm 84:11).
We should all be careful that we do not fall into the state of unbelief, distrust and dissatisfaction with the Lord our God, for that will spell total blockage to the flow of mercy, grace and sundry supplies from the throne of grace. Those who have fallen into that state should repent and reconsider once again the unchanging and unfailing goodness of the Lord. A songwriter once urged believers to ‘Count your blessings and name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done’.
We, as seekers after God, should diligently search the Scriptures daily to dig up fresh recipes for our soul and body, meditate on the works, wonders and miracles of our God in the past, present and future; and live in perpetual gratitude for all His benevolence towards us. This is a sure way of ensuring continual flow of divine blessings in our lives.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Be assured, your works shall be rewarded.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Exodus 5-7
