Veteran Afrobeats artist Dbanj has announced an upcoming collaboration with fellow music icon 2Baba (formerly 2face Idibia), along with plans for a joint tour featuring Timaya.
Speaking in a recent interview, Dbanj revealed that he and 2Baba will soon release a new single titled Feeling Good. He added that the trio will embark on a tour to express gratitude to fans who have supported them over the past two decades.
“I’m also dropping a new song with 2Baba soon titled Feeling Good. For those who have waited, I want to thank you,” Dbanj said. “I think that would be the tag of the tour—just to thank.”
Reflecting on the rise of Afrobeats and African identity in global pop culture, Dbanj noted the genre’s evolution: “Now everybody is Afrobeats, everybody is African. But I remember when in this London it was not that great for you to say you are Nigerian. We all wanted to be Jamaicans.”
He praised the growth of African music internationally, highlighting its frequent inclusion in UK films and commending both creatives and the broader African diaspora for the progress.
