The funeral of the late Nigerian business tycoon, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, has been postponed due to logistical and regulatory hurdles in Saudi Arabia, the Federal Government has confirmed.
Dantata, who died on Saturday in the United Arab Emirates, was scheduled for burial in Madinah according to Islamic rites. However, delays in the transfer of his remains from the UAE to Saudi Arabia have disrupted the burial plans.
Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, told the BBC on Monday that the postponement stems from Saudi Arabia’s strict regulations regarding the repatriation of bodies for burial.
