Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) has warned truck drivers and transport operators against the unauthorized use of its logo on vehicles not affiliated with the company.
In a statement, the company expressed concern that despite repeated warnings, some independent truckers continue to brand their vehicles with the Dangote logo without approval. It said the practice misleads the public and damages the company’s reputation, especially when such vehicles are involved in accidents or criminal activities.
“We have repeatedly cautioned truckers to refrain from using our logo on unauthorized vehicles. Moving forward, we will increase vigilance and take decisive legal action against misuse of our brand identity, particularly concerning vehicles unaffiliated with the Dangote Group,” the management stated.
Dangote added that it will work with law enforcement agencies to step up monitoring and ensure offenders face prosecution for brand identity misuse and misrepresentation.
The company also urged members of the public and the media to verify information before attributing road incidents to Dangote trucks, stressing that many of the vehicles involved are not part of its official fleet.
