Dangote Petroleum Refinery has commenced the nationwide sale of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at a pump price of ₦739 per litre through MRS Oil Nigeria Plc filling stations, in a move aimed at preventing festive-season fuel hikes and strengthening stability in the downstream petroleum market.
The refinery announced in a statement on Sunday that the new price regime is being implemented across more than 2,000 MRS outlets nationwide, ensuring wide consumer access to the reduced rate.
According to the statement, the initiative underscores Dangote Refinery’s commitment to affordable fuel pricing and a more stable petroleum supply system. The company also commended MRS Oil Nigeria Plc and other marketers that have aligned with the new pricing structure, describing their action as a patriotic contribution to Nigeria’s economic recovery.
“We commend MRS and other marketers who have demonstrated patriotism by reflecting the reduced price at the pump. We call on others to join this effort as a show of support for Nigeria’s economic recovery,” the refinery said.
Dangote Refinery further cautioned against attempts by unscrupulous operators to undermine the initiative through artificial scarcity or supply manipulation, particularly during the festive period.
The company urged regulatory authorities to remain vigilant and take decisive action against any practices capable of frustrating the recent price reductions, stressing that such actions would be unpatriotic and unacceptable.
