Daily Manna 30 January
MEMORY VERSE: Isaiah 6:9 – “And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.”
READ: Isaiah 6:9-13
9. And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.
10. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.
11. Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,
12. And the LORD have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.
13. But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten; as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves; so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.

The world is fast slipping into moral blindness and insensitivity. People are becoming so adjusted to evil and error that they have lost the ability to perceive and understand the truth. We are seeing a vast reversal of norms. Things that were once condemned as wrong and abominable are now being celebrated as the ideal while once cherished values and practices are now condemned and jeered at. It has even reached the point where the attempt to point out these deviations and set things right is strongly resisted and termed as being discriminatory and hateful. The world is hitting the bottom of morality.
As Prophet Isaiah received the commission to preach to the nation of Israel, God painted the picture of the people he would be reaching out to. They were people who had become completely insensitive to the righteous demands of God. They had committed sins and rebelled against Him repeatedly that it had become normal for them. The Lord made Isaiah to understand that the people would resist his message and fail to see the truth. But Isaiah was mandated to continue to prophesy the truth as a remnant would be saved.
We must be careful that we do not come to the point where we become insensitive to the word of God. The Lord does not harden anyone’s heart or blind anyone to the truth; rather, people find themselves in that condition because they chose to be spiritually blind through a deliberate and consistent rejection of the truth. They have hit the bottom spiritually and morally.
We must keep preaching the truth even when it appears that people are not willing to listen. We must not change with the people or be forced to abandon the truth. Though the majority may not hear, there will still be a remnant that will hear, repent and be saved. Do not be dragged to the bottom; stand firm and strong in resisting error.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Resisting the truth is perilous!
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Matthew 4-5
