Daily Manna 2 June
KEY VERSE: “And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.” – (Exodus 4:2).
TEXT: Exodus 4:1-7
Then Moses answered and said, “But suppose they will not believe me or listen to my voice; suppose they say, ‘The Lord has not appeared to you.’ ”
2 So the Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?”
He said, “A rod.”
3 And He said, “Cast it on the ground.” So he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from it. 4 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Reach out your hand and take it by the tail” (and he reached out his hand and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand), 5 “that they may believe that the Lord God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.”
6 Furthermore the Lord said to him, “Now put your hand in your bosom.” And he put his hand in his bosom, and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous, like snow. 7 And He said, “Put your hand in your bosom again.” So he put his hand in his bosom again, and drew it out of his bosom, and behold, it was restored like his other flesh.

When God’s call is upon anybody, He will provide all that is needed to make the work possible, even though there may be temporary adversity. He often calls us to do that which is beyond our natural abilities. Paul the apostle affirms, “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God”.
Moses doubted the possibility of the children of Israel believing that he was sent by God. He revealed his insecurity about his leadership. He did not take to Egypt as evidence his personal encounter with God on Mount Sinai. What is interesting about the evidence that he was to take back to Egypt were the signs that God gave him to prove that he was a messenger of God. The Lord begins to work with a man with the little talent he has. Do not despise your talent or competence no matter how undeveloped it is. You will always start from the known to the unknown. Put to proper use the little talent available now for a bountiful harvest in the future. He said the children of Israel would not believe him if he told them his encounter with God. The almighty God told him to believe in himself.
Many people have remained in their mediocre level because they fail to accept the possibility of rising to the top from their little corner and with their little knowledge. With our little, God can achieve great things through us. He proved to Moses that he could accomplish a lot with His backing. So, start to believe in yourself and develop the “I Can!” mentality.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Little is much when God is in it.
