The Federal Fire Service in Rivers State has called on residents to equip their homes with firefighting equipment to help fight fire when the need arises before help arrives.
Deputy Comptroller General of the service, Favour Garuba said this in a statement following the fire incident at Mbonu street, D/line Port Harcourt.
She said, it is surprising that people spend millions on buildings without provision for firefighting equipment.
She also called on the state government to support the agency in getting firefighting equipment.
