The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Apapa Area Command, in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has seized 30.1 kilograms of cocaine at the Apapa Port in Lagos.
The illicit substance, packaged in 30 slabs, was intercepted aboard MV Aruna, a Marshall Islands–flagged vessel, at the Greenview Terminal on the first working day of the year.
The seizure was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Customs, Isah Sulaiman, and shared on the official X handle of the Nigeria Customs Service.
According to the statement, the joint operation successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle the cocaine into the country through the Apapa Port.
Commending the officers involved, the Customs Area Controller of the Apapa Command, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, praised their professionalism and vigilance during the operation.
He said the seizure underscored the effectiveness of inter-agency collaboration and reaffirmed the commitment of government agencies to intelligence-driven enforcement and the fight against drug trafficking.
