The Rivers State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, says it is aware of the hardship people of the state are going through due to the state-wide curfew.
Chairman of the party in the State, Desmond Akawor in a chat with news correspondents in Port Harcourt, on Friday, said the curfew was not imposed to punish anyone but to ensure security of lives and properties.
He said though the curfew has affected night life and businesses, but such things cannot be compared to lives and properties.
Akawor, said rather than cast aspersion on the state Governor, he should be commended for his proactive measures to curb insecurity in the state.
He appealed to residents to be patient and support the Wike administation to ensure security of lives.
