About 20 members of the Cross River State House of Assembly, that defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC have been sacked by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.
Justice Taiwo Taiwo, who delivered the judgement ruled that the lawmakers, having abandoned the political party that sponsored them to power, ought to vacate their seats.
The judgement followed a suit filed by the PDP marked FHC/ABJ/CS/975/2021.
You would recall that few weeks ago the Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi was also ordered to vacate his seat for defecting from the People’s Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.
