The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mukan has said that the Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, did not at anytime call him to confirm whether the officers that barricaded Ex-MD of NDDC, joy Nunieh’s residence were on legitimate duty, as he had earlier claimed.
CP Mukan who made this known in his office at the police headquarters in Port Harcourt, said no one called him for such confirmation.
The CP, called on the governor to hand over Joy Nunieh to the Police as she is currently under investigation. He said the officers from the IGP Intelligence Response Team, were on legitimate duty as they went through the processes, endorsed by him.
Muka,n furthermore noted that it is not in every case that a warrant is needed before the police can make arrest. The police can arrest without a warrant, Mukan asserted.
